MEET OUR DOCTORS
Dr. Vowell
Dr. Elaine Vowell is inspired to provide exceptional dental care to all of her patients, all of the time. She believes dentistry is an awesome profession and she is proud of the care her staff provides.
Born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska she left the cold in her pursuit of higher education. She and Dr. Pak have been friends and colleagues since they met in dental school in 1999. Upon graduation from Creighton University School of Dentistry in 2003, she continued her education by completing a one-year post-doctoral education program in Florida, earning the American Dental Association certificate of Advanced Education in General Dentistry. For the next four years, she provided care for sailors in the US Navy. First, aboard the USS RONALD REAGAN from 2004 to 2006 and then at the Naval Amphibious Base in Coronado, CA from 2006-2008. In 2008, she moved to Charlotte, NC where she joined her Dr. Pak at Ayrsley Family Dentistry.
Dr. Vowell actively engages in dental education with the goal of continuous improvement and growth. In 2008, she earned the prestigious fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry, completing 500 hours of dental continuing education. She continues her dedication to providing the most current and comprehensive dental care with her membership in the Spear Study Club. She is also a member of the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry.
When she isn’t at work she is busy with her family. She and her husband, Kasey, are blessed with four kids: Teneisha, Reagan, Evelyn, and Kenny.

Dr. Pak
For over 20 years, Dr. Katherine Pak has been a noteworthy leader in restorative family and cosmetic dentistry. She is featured in Charlotte Magazine, being recognized as a part of “Charlotte’s Top Dentist” since 2011 and has received this recognition every year thereafter. She continues to research with an open mind and a caring heart to find the utmost care for her patients.
A native North Carolinian, Dr. Pak is the founder of Ayrsley Family Dentistry (started in 2005) and achieved her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During her time at Carolina, she was honored on the Dean’s List and scored the top 96% of graduating seniors on her Dental Admissions Test. She thought long and hard about her future and discovered due to her love of art and love of medicine, she married the two with Dentistry as her passion and career. From Carolina to Creighton University School of Dentistry, she received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery, also honored on the Dean’s List and was awarded the Dr. Raymond Rucker Scholarship for scholastic achievement.
She is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Spears Continuing Education and the South Charlotte Study Club. In her continuing strive for comprehensive dentistry and education, Dr. Pak attended the prestigious Pankey Institute and Dr. Frank Spears Education Center. This is catered to post-graduate education programs for practicing dentists.
After dental school, Dr. Pak moved to Charlotte to marry her college sweetheart. She is a proud mom of two wonderful children, Xander and Lauren. In her spare time, Dr. Pak loves to cook, travel, read, run and spend quality time with her family and friends.

In addition to keeping the office running smoothly, she is always focused on creating a great experience for our patients. Outside of work, she is busy with her family, her friends and her love of essential oils.

Dentistry wasn’t part of the original plan, but as life often goes, it found its way into her path. With an extensive background in the field, she has carved out unique niches that have helped dental practices grow and evolve. What she values most about her work is the opportunity to connect with patients—building lasting relationships, nurturing trust, and guiding them toward their oral health goals.
Outside of her professional life, she is a proud mother of two beautiful young adults and shares her home with three cats and a small poodle. An outdoor enthusiast, she enjoys spending time in nature, hiking, and exploring creative outlets such as writing, editing, beadwork, and playing her hand-pan drum. She lives each day with an attitude of gratitude and embraces the art of appreciation.
